Which First Aid course you need, is determined by your First Aid Needs Assessment. If you need guidance, you can give us a call, or check the HSE’s resources – here.

All of our First Aid courses are accredited by Lantra. We typically offer Training (with Assessment), but if you prefer the Qualification option, please let us know at the time of booking.

This is a half day course, during which learners will recognise common risks to forestry workers and learn how to administer First Aid accordingly, including dealing with catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries, tick bites, heat stroke and hypothermia. It is not only useful for people working in forestry, but a wide range of outdoor roles.

The +F course from Lantra has been developed to comply with the Forestry Commission +F as per the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy and in consultation with Forestry Industry Safety Accord (FISA)

You need to hold an in-date first aid certificate to do the +F stand alone course. If you don’t have one, consider the Emergency First Aid at Work + F or First Aid at Work +F courses (details below).

A one day first aid course, also known as EFAW. The course covers CPR and use of a defibrillator, causes of unconsciousness and recovery position, choking, bleeding, shock and minor injuries

A one day course, that covers the same topics as EFAW plus the more specialist material of  the +F course. See above for both lists.

A three day course, aimed at those working in higher risk environments, or with larger groups of people. The course covers CPR and use of a defibrillator, causes of unconsciousness and recovery position, choking, bleeding and shock (like EFAW), then goes on to cover injuries to bones, muscles and joints, burns and scalds, and illnesses including asthma, diabetes and epilepsy. Please let us know if you’d like the full list of topics

three day course, that combines the topics covered in First Aid at Work and the +F courses.

A two day course, that recaps and refreshes learners knowledge covered in the First Aid at Work course.

Please note, you must have a current First Aid at Work certificate to undertake the refresher.
