This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra.
The course will cover health and safety requirements and encourage learners to work in a systematic method, with full regard for safety of the public, property and other environmental factors.
Learners will be cover the safe routine maintenance of a brushcutter and the identification of defections with require a service engineers attention. Candidates will learn how to carry out pre-cutting checks, adjust the brushcutter for comfortable operation and use the machine safely.

Hand-Held Hedge Trimmer
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra.
The course will cover health and safety requirements and encourage learners to work in a systematic method, with full regard for safety of the public, property and other environmental factors.
Learners will be cover the safe routine maintenance of a hedge trimmer and the identification of defections with require a service engineers attention. Candidates will learn how to carry out pre-cutting checks, adjust the hedge trimmer for comfortable operation, when a harness is used, and use the machine safely.

Leaf Blower
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. This course covers the use of back pack and handheld blowers, for petrol and electric tools.
The course covers the preparation of the leaf blower for operation, including routine maintenance tasks, and safe operation of the leaf blower.

Mowers
Pedestrian Mower
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. The course can cover up to two cutting mechanisms, eg rotary, flail or cylinder.
The course covers the risks associated with the use of pedestrian mowers, the controls and components of the machine. Learners will also practice daily checks, pre-start checks and fault identification and maintenance. Learners will adjust cutting mechanisms and operate the machine safely, including mowing on slops if required.
Ride on Mower
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. The course can cover up to two cutting mechanisms, eg rotary, flail or cylinder.
The course covers the risks associated with the use of ride on mowers, the controls and components of the machine. Learners will also practice daily checks, pre-start checks and fault identification and maintenance. Learners will adjust cutting mechanisms and operate the machine safely, including mowing on slops if required.
Combi Tractor Mower
This is a one day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. The course can cover up to two cutting mechanisms, eg rotary, flail or cylinder.
The course covers the main causes of accidents and risks associated with the use of tractors and mowers, and the controls and components of the machine and implements. The course also covers the requirements for travelling on the public highway.
Learners will also practice daily checks, pre-start checks and fault identification and maintenance. They will also recognise the safe working environment for tractor and mower combinations on typical ground surface conditions and assess the suitability of any ground before driving over it. Learners will adjust cutting mechanisms and operate the machine safely.
Please be aware that the learner must already hold a current certificate of competence in tractor driving, from a recognised awarding body (eg Lantra or NPTC, City and Guilds)

Litter Picking & Environmental Maintenance
This is an online e-learning course, that takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. The course is designed to help people plan and carry out litter picking and to understand the environments and risks involved with litter picking. This course is for staff, contractors or volunteers looking to attain a certificate of training in litter picking.
This course can form part of the LISS/CSCS requirements for individuals who want to gain a blue skills card for the Land Based Sector and is benchmarked in National Highways Sector Scheme 18. In order to qualify for LISS /CSCS the assessment must be completed under invigilated conditions. Please get in touch with us to discuss.
