Tractor Driving (For those with some experience) is a two day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. It is aimed at people who have previous experience of driving a tractor but no certificate.
The course covers the following:
- Health and Safety relating to tractors, including risk assessment
- Understanding the purpose and function of instrumentation & controls
- Competently performing checks, including daily checks and maintenance checks of lubrication, cooling and air intake of the engine
- Safe driving of the tractor in a forwards and reverse direction, using safe start and stop methods to leave the tractor in a safe state
There are optional modules to cover:
- Attaching a mounted implement and manoeuvring in a forwards and reverse direction
- Attaching a trailed implement and manoeuvring in a forwards and reverse direction
- Attaching a PTO shaft and guards safely
- Completing basic operations using a tractor mounted loader
The course costs £375 + VAT per person. Bookings include:

- Use of tractor, implements & fuel
- Lantra registration & certification
