Course:

First Aid At Work +F is a three day first aid course, also known as FAW+F.

The EFAW+F course from Lantra has been developed to comply with the Forestry Commission +F as per the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy and in consultation with Forestry Industry Safety Accord (FISA). It is also a great option for people who spend a lot of their working time outdoors, including landscapers, farmers and highway workers.

The course covers the same material as the Emergency First Aid at Work course, before then going into greater depth around a variety of possible injuries. The +F aspect of the course then looks at risks more common to forestry workers, including dealing with catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries, heat stroke and hypothermia.

The course covers:

  • Scene management
  • Primary & secondary surveys
  • CPR & use of defib
  • Causes of unconsciousness (including seizures) and recovery position
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries (including burns and splinters)
  • Head injuries
  • Broken bones, including spinal injuries
  • Chest injuries (including penetrating wounds)
  • Poisons
  • Eye injuries
  • Major illnesses, including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, anaphylaxis
  • Catastrophic bleeding
  • Tick bites
  • Crush injuries
  • Heat stroke / hypothermia

The cost is £350 + VAT per person, which includes lunch & drinks, workbook, Lantra registration & certificate, use of practice equipment.

All of our First Aid courses are accredited by Lantra. We typically offer Training (with Assessment), but if you prefer the Qualification option, please let us know at the time of booking.
