Course:
Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross Cutting & Felling Small Trees up to 380mm (CS30 & CS31)
This is a five day training, with an additional assessment day, registered with NPTC City & Guilds. Training and assessment covers two modules, commonly referred to as CS30 and CS31. It is the first of the professional chainsaw trainings. The first day of training is held here at One Ash Farm and remaining days are held at woodlands in the Northwest.
The course covers health and safety rules and regulations and maintenance tips and tricks before moving on to practical skills including; felling trees (up to 380mm diameter); taking down hung-up trees; de-limbing felled trees and cross cutting and stacking timber.
The course costs £590 + VAT, plus £365 NPTC fee. Bookings for this course include:

- Loan of PPE if required
- Filing kit to take home
- Equipment hire is available.
You will also need a chainsaw for this course which is around a 50cc engine with a 15” bar and semi chisel chain. Equipment hire is available, click here for more information.
