Tractor Driving is a three day Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course, registered with Lantra. It is aimed at people who are confident drivers of other vehicles, and may have some experience of towing trailers.
The course covers the following:
- Health and Safety relating to tractors, including risk assessment
- Understanding the purpose and function of instrumentation & controls
- Competently performing checks, including daily checks and maintenance checks of lubrication, cooling and air intake of the engine
- Safe driving of the tractor in a forwards and reverse direction, using safe start and stop methods to leave the tractor in a safe state
There are optional modules to cover:
- Attaching a mounted implement and manoeuvring in a forwards and reverse direction
- Attaching a trailed implement and manoeuvring in a forwards and reverse direction
- Attaching a PTO shaft and guards safely
- Completing basic operations using a tractor mounted loader
The course costs £475 + VAT per person. Bookings include:

- Lantra registration & certification
