Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue is commonly referred to as CS38. It is a five day course, with an additional test day. The assessment registered with NPTC City & Guilds and results in a level 2 certificate of competence.
Training and assessment is carried out in woodlands in the Holmeswood (Lancashire) area. Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue covers techniques for the safe and effective ascent and descent into trees and correct pruning position. It also covers the duties of a grounds person as well as a variety of aerial rescue techniques.
You will need a set of climbing equipment, a full kit list is available here, which can be hired from us if necessary. Equipment will require either a LOLER certificate or proof of purchase within the last 6 months
The course costs £580 + VAT per person plus NPTC fees of £200 (no VAT).
Assessment date: 11th November 2025.
